2. How much is your shipping fee?
The shipping fee appears at the end section of the checkout process.
The shipping depends on type of garment, weight, destination and method of shipment.
We recommend DHL as the most cost-effective, fastest and reliable mode of shipping.
As a ModernTailor customer, you have the option to request for ‘Signature Only’ delivery. If you prefer this option please add a note on your order that only members of the same household, living in the address specified, are allowed to sign and accept the package. Otherwise, generally, couriers use their best judgment whether to leave package at the door, in your physical mailbox or on the porch (on the specified address). Signature only delivery requests add an extra level of security and shipping companies charge an extra fee for this service. For example, Fedex charges an average of $5 per package for signature only deliveries. You may also email sales@moderntailor.com with your order # if you would like this setup.
3. Can I change my shipping address after submitting the order?
Yes as long as the order has not yet been shipped. Please send an email to sales@moderntailor.com

1. What is your product complaints policy?
For workmanship-related complaints, please contact us via email within 2 weeks after delivery of the goods. Complaints made after this period will not be entertained.
THE PROCESS:
1. Customer submits photos showing the chief complaint/s within 14 days upon product receipt. Email sales@moderntailor.com
2. Modern Tailor staff reviews the following:
Photos, Profile and original order details submitted, Quality paper/production paper, Additional notes/requests, Email correspondences concerning the order
3. ModernTailor staff forwards these to the production manager for further investigation.
4. ModernTailor staff presents these resolution/s to customer.
For measurement-related complaints, please submit photos to sales@moderntailor.com showing the wrong measurements. Take note of the proper way of measurements as specified on our Measurement guides. We follow the international standards for tolerance of production and our fabrics comply with ITF standards that require cotton fabrics to shrink less than 2%.
If ModernTailor is responsible for an issue that is easily repairable or can be modified by a local tailor, ModernTailor offers up to $20 alteration credit per item.
RESOLUTION:
If you submitted wrong measurements/style, we will either remake or alter the fabric at your full expense.
If ModernTailor is at fault, we will handle full cost of alteration/remake. If it’s easier to have a local tailor alter this for you, we can offer a service credit to be used for future order.
For shipping-related complaints:
If you provided wrong address, you will need to contact the transporter to have it re-routed to the correct address. This may have re-routing fee. You will need to shoulder the cost. If the order is urgent, we will remake and rush ship it at your full expense.
If ModernTailor provided the wrong address to transporter, ModernTailor will handle full re-shipment costs. If the order is urgent, we will remake and rush ship it to you at no extra cost.
The above resolutions are general guidelines. We review the complaints in a case-to-case basis. It is always best that you contact customer service at sales@moderntailor.com for any concern you may have so they can provide better resolutions for you.
Updated as of January 2016.
2. What are your alteration fees?
You can send shirts back to us if you need adjustments to be made.
Alteration fee is $10 per shirt. If the area to be altered has to be enlarged or lengthened, we need to check the fabric allowance of the garment. The following are things we can alter.
– Shirt length too long, Sleeve length too long or too short.
– Chest, waist, hip, yoke are too big
– Arms are too big or too small
– Cuffs, Collar too big or too small
3. What is your Returns Policy?
Items/garments, except ties and cufflinks, ordered from Moderntailor are custom-made to specific measurements. Thus, we discourage returns of garments. However, we understand that custom tailoring can be quite tricky. If you (customer) are not fully satisfied with the garments received, please email us at sales@moderntailor.com to determine the best step to take. Our customer service staff will be more than happy to handle your concerns and we will evaluate the issue on a case per case basis. The general principles are:
1. If we were not able to follow the clothing measurements you entered, with consideration of our cutting commitment and allowances published on our website, we will remake your order.
We highly suggest providing clothing measurements (pants, shirts, suit jackets) as the allowances our tailors are minimal and within industry standards.
If clothing measurements are unavailable, customers may opt to use body measurements. Our tailors add specific allowances (for comfort and movement) to garments made from body measurements. Due to these additional allowances, the customer may incur local alteration fees on their end to achieve a better fit (depending on their preferences).
2. If the package has been damaged during shipment, we will request for photos of it. We will replace the order as long as the items have not been tampered (washed, cleaned, etc) and reported within 1 week upon receipt of the item.
1. Do you accept large orders?
Yes. ModernTailor has enough capacity to finish orders in large volumes.

1. What is “ply” and “thread count”?
Ply indicates the thickness of a thread with which the fabric is woven. It is the number of yarns twisted together to make a single thread. 2 ply means 2 fabric threads twisted together to form a single thread to be woven to a fabric.
Thread count refers to the number of fabric threads woven together per square inch of fabric.
Fabrics with high thread count and ply are more expensive to produce. This is your choice of fabric if you prefer your shirts silky, soft and thin. However, threadcount is only one factor. The weave of the fabric, the ply and the mill where the fabric was made are also important factors to consider.
Modern Tailor fabric list gives you an idea of the thread count of the fabric. For thicker material, we recommend thread counts from 60s to 80s. 200s though more comfortable are more expensive and usually thinner. View our fabrics here http://moderntailor.com/dressshirts
2. What’s the difference between “Easy Care” and “Non-iron”?
Easy Care fabrics require minimal ironing and have better drying and crease recovery properties, whilst Non-iron fabrics use Liquid Ammonia + moist cure finishing treatment.
Non-iron fabrics are better and more resistant to wrinkles than the Easy Care fabrics.
3. What are the “Executive Collection” fabrics?
These fabrics are mainly from Italy and Japan. They are 80s to 100s two-ply fabrics.
4. What’s the difference among “Wool”, “Pure Wool” and “Anglo Saxon Wool”?
“Pure wool” means that the suit fabric is made of 100% wool, produced from high thread count 150s and 180s yarn. A “Wool” fabric is composed of polyester and wool blend. This is produced from 110s and 120s yarn.
The “Anglo Saxon Wool” is made of high quality, expensive Australian yarn.
5. What is the normal weight of your suit fabrics?
Our suit fabrics weigh around 280gr/mt to 300gr/mt.
6. Do I have to worry about shrinkage?
No. Majority of our fabrics are pre-shrunk, compliant with ITF standards that require cotton fabrics to shrink less than 2%. Any other residual shrinkage is considered in the shirt construction process. Some fabrics on our range eg linen and selected 100% cotton have shrinkage of 3-5%
